Manimani (body adornment) has a long history in Yolŋu culture. We make manimani from locally collected materials including native grass, seeds, nuts, shells and plant fibres. Each clan has specific manimani that can be worn during ceremony however we also make manimani to wear everyday – to make us pretty.
