This painting is about the ḏaruma (baler shell) track which can be seen on the mud during a low tide. Its track is called yikpaṉi. Ḏaruma is a dhuwa moiety totem that belongs to Djambarrpuyŋu clan. When there is a low tide ḏaruma can be found hiding in mud on the tidal mud flats. The ḏaruma has a lot of meat. When the tide comes back in the ḏaruma crawls under the water and hides.
