Jacinta Burukumalawuy is a Djambarrpuyŋu woman and emerging contemporary painter with a strong cultural and artistic family. Her father Keith Lapuluŋ is an important leader of the Djambarrpuyŋu clan nation that holds story from Djawaḻ’ŋur at Buckingham Bay, as well as being a significant knowledge-holder for Gupapuyŋu Birrkili. Lapuluŋ is now actively passing down story and painting to Jacinta.
