Sculpture
In Milingimbi we carve and create many types of works. With sculpture we recreate our ancestors and retell their stories. Using naturally hollowed-out logs we memorialise lost kin and sing them on their next journey using wooden biḻma ga yiḏaki (clapsticks and didjeridoo). We also create everyday objects like fishing spears, tobacco pipes and spear-throwers.
